Montco 2040

Montgomery County's new nationally awarded comprehensive plan, Montco 2040: A Shared Vision, was adopted on January 15, 2015.  The first step in this two-year plan process was the creation of a background document, Montgomery County Today, which provided in-depth information on existing conditions, trends and community concerns.

The policy plan was created through extensive public outreach efforts, which resulted in the participation of over 2,500 citizens.  the plan was guided by a diverse 28 member steering committee, which contributed invaluable insight.  This plan asks the critical questions:  What do we want Montgomery County to be like in the year 2040?  It provides an overall vision of Montgomery County, outlines key themes and goals for the future and provides realistic ways of accomplishing this vision.
