As you may be aware, Towamencin Township is in the process of selling their sanitary sewage system to NextEra after official action in 2022. Early in 2023, the Borough received notification from Towamencin requesting our feedback related to the Acquisition of Towamencin Township sewage facilities by NextEra Water PA. As required, the study was reviewed by the Borough’s Planning Commission as well as Borough staff and will be sent to the appropriate authority upon completion.
As a few Lansdale residents are connected to the Towamencin sewer system, they may be concerned with the effect the sale will have on sewer bills and in efforts to keep you aware of what is happening with sewer connection(s), we wanted to provide this resource portal. Final sale of Towamencin’s sewer system will not be official until approved by Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) and the Public Utilities Commission (PUC). The implementation schedule currently indicates that completion will occur in approximately four to six months. Unfortunately, definitive answers on how connections and bills will be impacted remain unknown until the completion of the sale; however, the Borough will continue to monitor the situation and provide information as it is available.
